Housing For Newly Admitted Students

The Office of Residential Life is responsible for operating and maintaining the residence halls and assigning rooms.  The office is located in Norse Commons 101.  On-campus rooms are available on a contract basis for one semester or one year.  A $200 deposit is required to hold the room.  If you sent us a request for campus housing with your application, it has been sent to the Office of Residential Life.  If you have not sent a housing request yet but would like to live in our dormitories, send your housing application to the Office of International Students & Scholars.  For specific questions related to housing, please write the Office of University Housing at their address or phone (859)572-5676, or you may send a fax to (859)572-6099.  We recommend that you request Woodcrest Apartments or Norse Hall or Callahan Hall as these residence halls are open throughout the vacation periods.  Space is very limited; turn in your housing application immediately! You can complete the housing application here.

You must have housing arrangements before arrival at NKU. NKU does not have temporary housing. If you arrive without housing arrangements, you will be referred to local hotels.

Off-campus housing is available to students on a contract or lease basis.  This means that the student makes an agreement with a unit for a given period of time.  Most landlords require a security deposit at the time of signing the contract.  Students should keep in mind that most apartments are unfurnished (no beds, desks, or other furniture).  All or part of the deposit is usually returned to the student when the contract is terminated.  Students might learn of available housing through newspaper advertisements and bulletin boards across campus.  We do not have an off-campus housing office to assist students in finding alternative housing.

Both on and off campus students must have their own pillows, bed sheets, blankets and towels.  You can bring your own bed linens, or you can purchase them upon arrival.
